I earned my PhD in Urban Education from The Graduate Center – City University of New York. Currently, I am Assistant Professor of Multilingualism and English Education in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders at Queens College, CUNY. My work seeks to disrupt systems of marginalization in minoritized bi/multilingual communities. Specifically, I examine how these dominant structures impact Vietnamese American youth.
My work has won numerous awards such as second place winner for Outstanding Dissertation by AERA’s Bilingual Education Research SIG, the Dissertation Year Award, Provost University Fellowship, Andrew Mellon Faculty Fellowship, and Fulbright Hays Grant.
